Raising funds for worthy causes

Insolvency practice McTear Williams & Wood has raised £1,160 for charity through its ninth annual bowls tournament.

Twelve teams of professionals from across the region battled for the McTear Williams & Wood Bowls Trophy which was held at the Diss & District Bowls Club. The highest scoring player was Ina Beurich of Leathes Prior while the winning team were Mark Palmer of George Hazell & Co, Liam Walker of Anglia Finance, Ed Stott of Haines Watts and Tim Langston of McTear Williams & Wood. In keeping with tradition the contestants wore an array of novelty slippers ranging from puppy dogs to monster claws.

Funds raised from the event went to the Little Ouse Headwaters Project a charity set up by local residents in 2002 to promote the conservation and enjoyment of the Fenland habitats and landscapres of the upper value of the Little Ouse.

McTear Williams & Wood thanked everyone who took part and donated.
