Our values, goals & accreditations
Our core values, goals and professional accreditations, highlighting our integrity, expertise and long-standing commitment to providing ethical, high-quality business rescue, insolvency and investigation services.
Our values
At McTear Williams & Wood, our work is driven by clarity, integrity and a commitment to doing what is best for our clients. For more than 25 years, we’ve supported directors of SMEs and family businesses, helping them navigate financial difficulty with practical, ethical and expert guidance.
Our values, goals and accreditations form the foundation of our reputation, one built on trust, high professional standards and proven results.
People first
Acting with integrity
We do not sell insolvency. We focus on the best outcome for our clients, and only one in four initial meetings results in an insolvency appointment. We end up talking ourselves out of insolvency appointments all the time because there is a better option available to the directors of the company in difficulty but that doesn’t matter as we are more interested in building long-term trust with accountants, solicitors and business owners.
In over 25 years working in insolvency, by its nature involves creditors losing money and being disgruntled, we have never had any complaint upheld by our regulator.
High professional standards
As a firm we operate to strict regulatory and ethical standards, ensuring every case is managed with precision from statutory requirements. What’s more, our team has strong professional qualifications and maintains continuing professional education required by the ICAEW.

Support without judgement
Clients often come to us at high-stress moments. Our role is to provide steady, reassuring guidance. We explain processes clearly, help directors understand their responsibilities and where we can protect them from unnecessary risk.
We also work side by side with accountants and solicitors, ensuring clarity and open communication throughout every case.
