East Anglia’s leading business rescue and insolvency specialists McTear Williams & Wood have raised £2,160 for Blood Bikes Norfolk at its popular 14th annual bowls tournament.
Twelve teams of professionals from across the region battled for the “McTear Williams & Wood Bowls Trophy” which was held at the Diss & District Bowls Club on Wednesday 24 April 2024. The winning team were the “Avocets”; Michael Greene of Streets Whittles Chartered Accountants, John Bradshaw of Barker Gotelee and Lyndsey Squirrell of Ellisons Solicitors. The highest scoring player was Michael Greene of Streets Whittles who had the honour of wining the trophy.
In keeping with tradition the contestants wore an array of novelty slippers ranging from puppy dogs to monster claws.
Funds raised from the event went to Norfolk Blood Bikes. Norfolk Blood Bikes is a registered UK Charity Commission formed, in 2011, to fulfil the need of an ‘out of hours’ transport service for blood, samples and any other items. Run entirely by local volunteers, they operate a fully livered fleet of 11 motorcycles and 4 cars to help transport blood, plasma, platelets, samples, vaccines, donor breast milk and any other urgently required medical items to hospitals in Norfolk, as well as to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Once again McTear Williams & Wood Limited extend their thanks to everyone who took part and to the Diss & District Bowls Club.
