Eton Wick Road could lose land as it goes to auction

The Crown Farm site's future is unknown as it goes off to auction - and residents are not happy.  The farmland - which is 5.2 acres - on Eton Wick Road is being sold by liquidators McTear Williams & Wood on behalf of owners Cobvale Ltd and the bidding will start on June 17.

Speculation has been circulating on a social media group with locals worried the site could be developed to make room for new homes or a traveller site.  Residents were left outraged when an unknown person came to rip trees and hedges out from the site without permission sometime before 23 May with Thames Valley Police stepping in to cease the work.

A statement released by Eton Town Council write "Eton Town Council deplores the damage done at Crown Farm and supports any action that the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) takes to protect the land and as far as possible to restore it to a natural state, recognising that the RBWM is the responsible body for all planning and legal issues associated with the site!

The liquidators said they were unaware of the site clearance and did not instruct the person to carry out any work.
