Demolition firm goes into administration

C.D.C. Demolition Ltd based at Waldringfield near Ipswich, Suffolk has gone into administration with the loss of 46 jobs although some of the business may be salvaged. The directors blamed losses on a contract to demolish three large gasholders at Southport which caused cashflow difficulties The company provided demolition services to private and public clients and has specialisms in areas such as asbestos removal, ground decontamination and remediation of petrochemical sites.Andrew McTear and Chris Williams from McTear Williams & Wood were appointed as joint administrators at the firm, which has operated since 1965, on 4 September.

David Wood, a partner at East Anglian based McTear Williams & Wood, said: “There have been a number of parties which have expressed an interest in the business and assets. We will be looking at all possibilities that could salvage at least parts of the business and offer the chance of re-employment for at least some of C.D.C. Demolition’s former employees.”
