Our aim

Our aim is to provide expert advice to underperforming businesses. We search for creative solutions, using our experience and contacts to enable potentially viable businesses to flourish. Where rescue is not possible we act with speed and understanding, often working in conjunction with existing advisors. Our sole concern is the best available outcome for the client.
 

Worried about talking to an Insolvency Practitioner?

You shouldn't be. We deal with people and businesses experiencing financial problems all the time. We can help you make sense of the issues, suggest alternative courses of action and help you weigh up the pros and cons of each possibility. In some cases the necessary action is obvious but in others there is a range of choices. We always seek the best solution for our clients, even if that sometimes means bankruptcy or liquidation. Clients need to understand all available options and their implications before reaching any decisions.
 

Why are we different?

We take the drama out of a crisis. McTear Williams & Wood is entirely focused on insolvency and recovery work – we specialise – and we like to think that a significant part of our expertise involves a cool, calm assessment of your circumstances. We take the time to listen to your story before offering our advice.

Our goal is to ensure that the route you decide to take will be the best available in the circumstances and we feel it's vital always to explain the associated risks and rewards.

You may have to face some uncomfortable truths but we're not here to judge you. We remain focused on achieving the best possible outcome. And, whatever the crisis, we don't do 'drama' at McTear Williams & Wood.

How we work

We don't hold a monopoly on good ideas, so we will work with you to find the best solutions for your particular situation.

Generally, one partner will lead each case but will always consult and discuss the issues with at least one other senior colleague to help develop an appropriate line of thinking.  Likewise we expect to develop a strategy in conjunction with you, our client.
