Andrew McTear – Qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985 and as a licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 1988, specialising in business rescue and insolvency since then.  He spent 20 years working for a big four accountancy firm in East Anglia, where he was latterly a Corporate Recovery Partner before co-founding McTear Williams & Wood.  Andrew specialises in all aspects of corporate insolvency and leads McTear Williams & Wood's business angels initiative working from all five offices. Chris Williams – A Chartered Accountant and a licensed Insolvency Practitioner. Chris has specialised in insolvency and recovery work throughout his career, apart from four years at the coal face running his own business – so he's been there and done that. Chris specialises in all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency but particularly enjoys getting involved early when there are more options available. Chris is a National Council member of R3, our trade body.
DTW
David Wood – Gained an excellent understanding of the commercial opportunities and problems his business clients face during his 20 years in the manufacturing sector. In 1990 David started advising on insolvency and turnaround and joined Chris and Andrew to form the existing partnership in 2000. Based in Ipswich, David specialises in guiding business managers in financial distress and negotiating with creditors to avoid formal insolvency where possible.

Austin Alleyne – Qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1975 and as a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 1986. Austin has specialised in Corporate Recovery since 1981, latterly as a mid tier firm Partner. Based in Chelmsford, Austin specialises in corporate insolvency work.
RB
Roger Barnbrook – Worked as an accountant in industry with owner managed companies and international firms. He was made redundant in 1985 when his employer went into Administrative Receivership.  He assisted the London based receivers and was then offered a job with them. In 1990 he transferred to a local insolvency firm in Ipswich and then moved with them to Cambridge until he transferred to BDO Stoy Hayward in Newmarket in 1998. Roger joined McTear Williams & Wood in July 2003. Based in Cambridge, Roger has been involved in several large high profile voluntary arrangements.

David Hovell – Joined the firm in 2003 and specialises in banking issues and turnaround work. David was a corporate banker with Barclays Bank plc for many years and since 1996 headed up its business support team in the region. His group of managers operating right across East Anglia focus on the successful turnaround of businesses experiencing difficulties.

Chris McKay – Qualified as a chartered accountant in 1994 and then specialised in forensic accounting. Chris moved into insolvency and corporate recovery in 1996. He spent four years out of the profession as a finance director for a nationwide property services company, before returning in 2003 and so he has bags of practical experience. Chris draws on his varied skill set to both advise directors and maximise returns to creditors.

Adrian Sage - Started his working life in the health service before joining the insolvency profession in 1980 with a small local practice in Ipswich.  After moving to a mid-tier firm for a further 14 years, he joined Deloitte and has worked in Cambridge for the last four years.  Adrian recently joined McTear Williams & Wood based primarily in the Ipswich office and brings his extensive experience in all areas of corporate insolvency.

Chris Poulton - Gained and MBA from London Business School and built two successful businesses from start-up, before opening his own early stage venture capital firm which works with entrepreneurs to assess investment opportunities and create new technology businesses.  Based in Cambridge, Chris is working on developing a range of advisory services to technology companies in the region and expanding our Turnaround Business Angel Network.

Iain Reid - Iain has over 20 years experience in the commercial property market in East Anglia and is a Director of Norwich based Citygate Developments. Citygate have undertaken many local developments specialising in turnaround situations. Prior to this Iain was head of the Norwich commercial property office of a large national property agent where he specialised in development and investment advice for local and national clients. Joining us as our in-house property specialist, Iain will be able to use his wealth of experience to advise local companies and shareholders on their property assets in business rescue and insolvency situations.
donald stuart
Donald Stuart - joined us in January 2010 as an Associate in our expanding banking specialist team.  Donald has over 39 years front line banking experience dealing with SME and corporate businesses, the last 13 of which he was Area Director in East Anglia with Bank of Scotland.  He has enjoyed working with clients in both the good and more testing times and looks to use his experiences for the benefit of professional advisors and clients.
