Demolition firm in administration

Suffolk-based CDC Demolition has gone into administration with the loss of 46 jobs.
Andrew McTear and Chris Williams from East Anglia-based McTear, Williams & Wood were appointed joint administrators for the firm on Friday.

CDC Demolition, based in Waldringfield near Ipswich, has been in operation since 1965.  It provided demolition services to private commercial enterprises, public transport bodies and local government, offering specialist skills such as asbestos removal, ground decontamination and remediation of petro chemical sites.

All 46 employees, including the directors, were made redundant on Friday 4 September.
McTear William & Wood partner David Wood said: “There have been a number of parties that have expressed an interest in the business and assets.

“We will be looking at all possibilities that could salvage at least parts of the business and offer the chance of re-employment for at least some of CDC Demolition’s former employees.”
